Ellen Johnson Funeral

Mrs. Ellen Johnson, age 85, of Montague passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at Trinity Hospital. She was born March 23, 1937, in Shelby, MI to Claude and Jantina (Newmyer) Weesies. On May 17, 1963, she married Donald Johnson and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Ellen was a devoted member of New Era Christian Reformed Church. Her love for her grandchildren was only surpassed by her faith. She enjoyed spending time with her flowers and reading. She loved visiting with people and she never lost a game of Dutch bingo. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Dean (Greta) Johnson, and Joel (Marci) Johnson; six grandchildren: Lucas, Matthew, and Nathan Johnson; Gordon, Joely, and Luis Johnson; four siblings: Char Betten, Fran Weerstra, Dave (Barb) Weesies, and Ken Weesies; sisters-in-law: June Weesies and Sharlene Karsten; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Vern Johnson in 1985; brothers: Cal (Lois) Weesies, Don Weesies.
